Commitment letter rec'ved Fri & Mon something popped up on credit report will the lender check before closing

first time homebuyer received commitment letter Friday and closing date scheduled in 3 weeks. on Monday something popped up on credit report that has already been paid and have begun dispute process. will this negtive info affect my home purchase and will the lender even check my credit again before closing?

IT COULD BUT PROBALY NOT
YOU SAY ITS BEEN PAID AND YOUR DISPUTING
IF YOU APPLED OVER A MONTH AGO YOUR LENDER
MAY NEED TO PULL YOUR CREDIT AGAIN
OR IF YOUR LOAN AMOUNT OR OTHER TERMS CHANGE
YOUR CREDIT COULD BE PULLED.
IF YOUR LOAN IS CORRECT YOUR WILL BE OK

GOOD LUCK Source(s): MORTGAGE LENDER
With the sub prime market souring and foreclosures rising across the nation, you BETTER believe that a negative credit entry is grounds for a deal-breaker. Closing will be very difficult until that entry is removed from credit report or negated with valid proof/evidence.

There is a current tightening up of credit policy.

Good luck.
CPA
Yep. You need to show proof that it is in fact paid.
