Ideas for Extra Credit Report for Adv. Biology? |
It can be on any subject related to science. I'm 17 and a junior. It can't be too hard. I just need something basic that I can write 2-5 pages on. Evolution v.s. Creationism (tons of stuff to write about) The Science and Mathematics Behind Heredity (Tons of stuff to write about here: phenotypes, genotypes, alleles, Punnent Squares, Probability, Expected Data, Observed Data, Statistics). Stem Cell Research Good Luck (AP Bio is a drag, huh?) The possibilities of stem cell research, the possibilities of biotechnology? When I had to do EC reports, I always went to media sources, especially Mythbusters! You could write on a disease, one that not many people have heard of, like progeria or something like that, or check ot DiscoveryHealth.com. Good luck! Genetically Modified foods? What about vaccinations for kids? And why some parents choose not to get them vaccinated? Something I always found cool was bioluminescence. I was just at an aquarium and they had jellyfish that glowed... it just reminded me of how cool it is. Just an idea if you don't want to do something controversial or that is in the news lately. Write an essay evaluating yourself based on the concept of "survival of the fittest." Things like wisdom teeth are slowly disappearing over generations, and you could evaluate how "fit" you are to survive... I don't mean for it to sound depressing, but just a fun, light paper that makes you think about yourself in a new way. |
