Credit report? How to get one without being bugged about loans? |
My son needs his credit report for a job he's applying for. I know there's a lot offered online that say "Free Credit Report" but he's not interested in taking out a loan and doesn't want to be bugged by these guys, he just need the report. (he just went to Wells Fargo and they were no help) Does anyone have any suggestions? Your son is entitled to a free credit report for employment purposes, and he won't be pestered by anyone. He can call Equifax at 1-800-685-1111, or send his request to Equifax, PO Box 740256, Atlanta, GA, 30374. He just needs to state he is seeking employment. He can also get his free copy from all 3 credit reporting agencies online at www.annualcreditreport.com, or can call 1-877-322-8228 and have it sent by mail. Depending on your state of residence, you may also be entitled to a free copy as legislated by your state, but that varies according to where you live. Hope this helps . Equifax does not pester you. They just give you the credit report for free. I have never even gotten junk mail from them. He is entitled to a free view of his credit reports annually. Here is the website that he needs to use. He won't hurt his score by looking at his report. annualcreditreport.com does work. it has 3 major bureaus on it. i found it thru my credit unions website. totally free, no hassles. Equifax |
