What credit score is needed to buy a house for a married couple with a decent interest rate? Absolute minimum 600. Ideally something closer to 650 or 700. Remember... credit scores go up to 850. The higher the credit score, the better the interest rate. I think you need one at least in the 600s to get a decent rate. 620 decent, 680 better 720 and above best.
