How to remove past credit history and increse your credit score? |
How to remove past credit history and increse your credit score? Well, there's not really a clear-cut way to "remove" past credit history, unless the information is incorrect, then you can do a method called "debt validation" in which a letter is sent to the collector or original creditor in which they prove that not only the debt's yours, but the information's correct as well. If they're not able to provide proof of this, then you're entitled to have it removed from your report, but if they're able to verify that it is yours, then chances are the information will either be corrected or it won't change at all. Even if the debt is yours you still can neogitate a "removal payment" or a "payment for deletion" which is a payoff amount given in exchange for removing it from the report. You can use the statute of limitations as much-needed leverage when you negotiate. What the statute of limitations is the time limit a creditor has to take you to court and sue you for what's owed. I posted the link to the statutes of limitations for each state. I also posted a link that gives tips on how to negotiate getting negative items removed from your report as well. Source(s): http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/... http://www.creditinfocenter.com/debt/set... You can't remove your past credit history, you are stuck with it! You pull up your credit report..call the creditor you own..and state.. you will pay them in full to remove the negative on your credit report..everyone is hard up for money..they will do..just pay them off. you can't remove it but they usually look at the past 7 years, I think. So, just do better. theres no way to remove them but when u cancel credits cards then dont do it. instead either cut them in half and throw them away or burn them. if u call to cancel ur card the company will think that u owe money There are credit repair companies which, we recommend here in Albuquerque. You can also contact some on line but, my experience with on line companies hasn't seemed to be very good. They seem to take your money and don't respond to your e mails. My advice is to attempt to contact someone locally if that's the direction you wish to take. The "Loan Arranger" Albuquerque, NM |
