If you score a 3 on an AP test do you get the credit? It depends on the college and the subject. Go to www.collegeboard.com search for the colleges you are considering and you can find their specifications on each subject area and credit they give. It just depends on your school. I know my school accepts a 3 or above but some do not. You'll have to check with your advisor. That depends on the college. The answer is it depends on the college and the specific course that you took AP test for. Different colleges have different requirments. MANY colleges, if not most, will give you some amount of course credit for a "3". Most colleges will give you more credits if you score higher. For example, you may get credit for one class with the "3". If you score 4 or 5 you may get additional credit and be exempt from taking more classes. Check on your school's website, you should list all AP tests, the required scores and what class(es) you will get credit for. You have to make either a 3, 4, or 5 for most colleges. However, testing out of something may not be the best choice if you don't learn the subject very well, especially if the course is a building block for other courses. |
