What credit card should i get to bost my score?

I am 23 and I have only 2 credit cards. I got a best buy one and a navy federal credit union one (my bank). my bank one i have had for 5 years and the best buy one about 3 years. i have never miss a payment and nor do i owe any money to them. i am not in depth at all car paid off for. I want to know what credit card i can get to really bost up my credit score. its like 650 or so and i want to break 720. I was thinking american epresss but i dont know. i just got out of the navy dont have a job, going to school and getting unemployment. i have no bills or anything bc the navy is paying for my school. after unemployment runs out i will get a job. so what is a good credit card for me to get?

Actually, you are not helping your credit score by not using your card. The BEST way to increase your score is by actually using your mastercard or visa, then making your timely payment. Your credit scoring is actually measured on your payment history. Paying on time is the best way.
The best suggestion is to charge your everyday bills that you normally write a check or pay cash for...i.e. cell phone bill, groceries, gas, lunch, and then pay your credit card off immediately before the finance charge hits.

Also, having merchant (store) credit cards is a negative factor on your credit score. So I suggest closing your Best Buy account. If not, charge your CDs that you normally would've paid cash for then pay it off immediately.

To answer your question, yes, obtain an American Express.
I don't suggest buying things you can't afford to pay off right away. I'm talking about bills that you would normally pay with cash or with checks for. Charge it on the credit card and make the on-time payment.

FYI, You said you've owned Bank One credit card for 5 years. Call them and ask them to lower your interest rate. You should try to get them to go down twice.
If you ask them to offer a better rate, they will. But they can offer an even lower rate. You just have to speak to a "supervisor" or "manager" that can authorize this.
It's super easy to do and you'll be surprised. Try this with all your credit cards. Especially with good credit that you already have. Also, keep track of your rate. Sometimes they will increase your rate without notifying you so keep a close eye on your statements.

I would also suggest getting a card that you can accumulate airmiles because after you graduate you may be wanting to take a nice vacation. :)
unless you have a job, then don't get one. what happens when you don't get the job you think you'll get? wait until you start working.
To improve your score you must get yourself into a little bit of debt and "prove" you can handle credit. By having all "zero" balances you aren't showing that you can manage your credit, you're avoiding using it.

Go out a buy a few things on each card, a few hundred bucks each. Then set up automatic payments each month from your bank account so you don't forget any cards. As you make payments each month your score will increase. My score suffered a lot just 6 months ago due to lack of usage. I had several auto loans in a row but virtually no credit card usage. I went out and got 5 dinky department store cards, bought some crap, and make the minimum payment each month. The balances are so low I'll wind up paying them off in 12 months even at minimum $20 a month payments. My scores have improved 60-80points and still going up.
