Help with dental insurance? |
Ok, , please only answer this if you are for sure on the answer! Thanks. Ok, I have 4 cavities and gingivtes, and my husband has a bunch of cavities and gingivites and root canals. We have no dental insurance, and we need atleast 6-7000 dollars worth of dental work done. DOES ANYONE have any idea of a place I could go to get amazing dental insurance? I can't pay up front to much money maybe a few hundred. This really sucks- its way to much to even think about =( thanks It is hard to find individual plans (those not linked to an employer). And when you do find them they are usually not that good. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". Even if you had, or are able to find, a traditional indemnity or PPO plan, they typically pay out a maximum of $1000- $1500 per person, per year. And the more complicated procedures you refer to, would only be covered at 50% most likely. So in addition to paying you deductible, copays and any amounts about and beyond the maximu, you will also have paid a premium to your insurance company. You would really need to sit down and do the math to see if gettin insurance really saves you that much money in the long run. See if you dentist can spread out the treatment of a longer period of time and work out a payment or possibly a low interest rate credit card. The USA really has to do something the insurance problems we have. Good Luck! I do know in the state of Washington, the DSHS (Department Of Health And Social Services) offer medical and dental care for those with low incomes, so look and see if your state offers something like that for you. I'd also research into dental clinics that, like some hospitals, offer a type of charity coverage where you can apply for funding, and if approved, a charity will pick up the bill for you. Most state universities also have a dental program where you can join and while it will be MUCH CHEAPER to get things done.. It will also take longer, and will be supervised by a professional dentist while a student does the work. Sorry about your tooth pains, I'm waiting to get my wisdom teeth pulled, so just hang in there! you can get medicade if ya'll qualify for it. you pay two dollars a visit..go to your dss office. You can save alot of money with discount dental plans. This is not dental insurance, but you can save up to 60% of the cost of the dental work. I paid $490 for dental work that usually costs $820 last year. Dental discount plans cost $100 - $200 per a year. Go to www.lowpriceddentalplans.com to see which plans are available in your area. Life experience. I have a dental discount plan, it's very affordable and the savings are great. You don't have to worry about pre-existing conditions, limits on your visits or services, you just pay a discounted price for your dental services, simple to use. The website below should provide you with specific information on the plan and you can also locate the dental providers in your area that accepts this plan...... hope things work out for you... http://wehavebenefits.com Your family needs a dental plan that has no annual maximums, and no waiting periods considering your condition.
