Can someone recommend me a good individual dental insurance company w/ good insurance plan w/ good benefits? There are no good individual dental plans in the US. Most "good" coverage is through employers and it's still not very comprehensive. Please avoid solisitations for so-called dental discount plans which are unregulated and often fail to provide what they promise. The best way for individuals with no employer-furnished insurance is to self-insure. Set aside a "premium" payment in a special account each paycheck and use it as your substitute insurance. Most dental offices will give a small discount for paying in cash at time of service. I do not agree with emmalue there are many good insurance plans for people looking to purchase outside of an employer. as I have seen from other peoples answers Delta Dental (with kaiser individual) is great. There is no waiting period, alot is covered. i have Guardian. Check out Delta Dental absolutely and it only costs $2: 100 yards of floss and i can promise you that you will never have a problem. I like my dental plan because it always save me money every time I use it. It's not insurance but a dental discount plan. No limits on visits or services, no age limit, no waiting period, specialists included! This plan does have their own providers but a very broad selection. Save anywhere from 50% to 80 on most utilized dental procedures such as exams, x-rays, teeth cleanings, fillings, root canal, and even crowns! Members can also save 25% to 50% on Braces!
