Elimination period versus waiting period in dental insurance? |
Is there a difference between the two, if so which is better? p.s. I also posted this in the health section so please dont report me for posting same question twice as I wasn't sure which place would be better thanks Hello - an elimination period is a term used for disability insurance. You may have a waiting period for major services on the dental plan, up to 12 months. Whoever is handling the insurance for you or the company you work for should be able to give you the particular plan benefits. There is a difference when it comes to disability insurace, but I have never seen the two used together in a dental policy. I would have to assume that in dental they would both mean the same thing.. the time before the policy goes into effect. I paid dental insurance claims for several years and have never heard of an elimination period for dental coverage, only disability. Did you find this term in your dental certificate? The policy or certificate should include a glossary of terms which will explain what that particular company means by that term. |
