My wisdom teeth are beginning to grow.. I need dental insurance, any ideas on where to go?

I have been looking for insurance and cannot find any that are a fair deal. Either they are pretty cheap monthly with HUGE payments (like 400 for the surgery) or they have low payments but I would be paying more throughout the months. Any ideas on good insurance in Cali?

Do you live near a dental college? The University of Washington Dental School has need for patients the dentists in training can work on. They have a sliding fee schedule for folks like you.

Other dental schools have the same set up. Check one out in your state. UCLA or UC Berkley or UC Davis.
Dentists?
Sara.

I'd go to rosarita mexico. There are lots of US trained dentists working in mexico because they cannot afford US insurance.

Ask around, I'm sure you can find some pretty easy (ask your grandparents, or friends of theirs, becasue they probably go down to mexico to get dental work done)

or you can try to see if your state has public health care, get on it, then complain to the doctor that your wisdom teeth hurt, and they will extract them for free.
Sara,
How about AmeriPlan? They offer great savings and you would only spend $11.95 a month for coverage.

Discount dental plans will probably not help with a specialist. Good oral surgeons are not likely to accept 70% or less of their normal fee.

Financing may be an option for you. There is no way to buy insurance for something you know will happen. It is not feasible for an insurance company to give you $1000 coverage and charge less than that in premiums.
