I have been in pain with a toothache for 2 weeks and am 7 months pregnant i have no dental insurance..? |
I have been in excruitiating pain for 2 weeks with an abcess tooth. I have taken antibiotics and they did not work. I have no dental insurance and cannot get into the health department dental clinic till July!! I dont know what to do anymore.. I cry all the time it hurts so bad i cant sleep especially. I am also 7 1/2 months pregnant and am so worried. I need to have this tooth pulled and cant wait any longer!! If you don't have much money and you are pregnant then you should qualify for medicaid. Your local DFACS office can give you Medicaid and you will get a temporary card that day. Many dentists take medicaid and you can just call around to find one who will. Medicaid for adults will pay for an extraction and all of your prescriptions. I'm guessing that your dentist didn't give you those antibiotics right? Very scary thing to do while pregnant. Not all antibiotics are safe while pregnant. As for going to the emergency room. They don't do any dentistry even with an abscess. The dentist wont even pull the tooth while it is infected because of septicemia. If you find one that will...RUN and don't go back. Your best bet is medicaid right now. For the time being, clove oil can help out with the pain and is available over the counter at your local drug store. Good luck Source(s): Nurse Sounds like an emergency. Go to the hospital. go to emergency.. Go the Emergency Depart. they will help you. get yourself the the ER. Apply for charity care *free medical* and get some pain meds and someone to look at your tooth. an abcess can infect your blood and make you septic and can KILL you. dont worry about the money you will be spending, worry about your life. good luck and I hope you get what you need. You could have it pulled it is a lot cheaper. I had to have a tooth pulled when I was pregnant, I had insurance but I had to wait 2 months for them to do anything, so instead of being on antibiotics and pain meds they pulled it. You can also apply for medicaid, which is insurance while you are pregnant, my sister who made like 60,000 a year was on it while she was pregnant cause she didn't have insurance, there income restrictions are not bad when you are pregnant. good luck to you |
