Friend needs dental work, no insurance? |
what can she do? she lives in MD, said she needs exstensive work done, and the dentist said he couldn't help, she is only one of 98% of people who have the same prob. Is there any possibility that she's eligible for medicaide or social assistance (i.e., welfare, Jewish Family Services ... she doesn't need to be Jewish to get help!)? That would be the first thing I'd check into, if I were her. There are some dentists that work with a program (I forget the name) that finances dental work...kind of like a credit card, but only for dentists. She might look into that too. Finally, she might check with local dental colleges. A lot of them will do low-cost or free dental work in trade for the experience. It may not be the BEST option, but its better than nothing at all. This is one link I found: http://www.oea.umaryland.edu/gov/communi... Mexico. see if she can get help from a local church find a dendal school and hope for the best. otherwise most big dental practises will work out a payment plan. Check to see if her dentist can help her apply for the "dental Credit card", sorry don't know what it is called, we used it with my brother She if she qualifies for Medicare. Some, but not all, of the Medicare plans in MD offer adult benefits. (Amerigroup is the one I can think of off the top of my head.) If there is a dental school nearby she could go there and let the dental students work on her. It usually is free or low cost. |
