What do you do when you need dental work done but have no insurance? |
I have a really good friend who needs his wisdom tooth pulled. Unfortunately he has no insurance and it is $700 to get it pulled. He doesn't have a lot of money so he doesn't know what to do, after he pays his bills he isn't left with much else. Does anyone have any suggestions...safe suggestions? Yes, Have him check with the Department of Family and Children Services. If that does not work then search for a Medical School that provides dental work. They do it at a DEEP Discount. Also, he can probrably get financing for it. He needs to talk to the dentist and work out a payment plan. If his dentist wont do payments he needs to find a dentist that will. If you contact a dental college, they have free services that they do. My friend is in dental college right now and she does this. My dentist allows me to make payments. I don't know if this is standard procedure or not. Some dentists will let you pay by the month. He should ask if there's a payment plan. all he has to do is apply for medicaid doll they never turn anyone down 700 bucks, your kiddin'..what a rip off..my dentist wouldn't charge half that. first thing , find another dentist.. |
