How come my dental office hasnt found out my insurance was cancelled? |
I have braces, which I am currently paying the copayment for it which was part of the insurance, my insurance was canceled 8 months ago, how come they havent found out? My current price will definately change if they found out.. They probably already got paid on the braces. My understanding when it comes to orthodontic claims, is that an initial fee is charged at the very beginning and one single claim is paid, not individual claims every month. But if that is not the way it is done, then shame on you for thinking you deserve free braces. Source(s): Dental assistant for 10 yrs. Trust me, they WILL find out! Be careful...they will find out, and when they do you will get a bill. Part of the reason may be that they have not filed yet. Be careful.... well it because they haven't submitted any claims to your insurance company but when they do you be best to believe that you will be charges for any back charges that the insurance company didn't pay and any current ones. They will find out eventually and then you will get the bill for the unpaid portion. The best thing to do is be up front with them and set up a payment plan. Have you ever heard about trust, that's what they had for you and you violated that trust with the dental office. If enough do what you have done then procedures will be delayed until they verify. People are judged on their honesty I think you failed. |
