Need dental work, have no $$ for it and no insurance? |
I am a senior citizen, working when possible but barely eeking out a living. I receive a small amount of $$ from Social Security. I need dental work as soon as possible. I live in Milwaukee, WI., where can I get dental work done without paying a lot of money? Check in your area for local church charities, many times they are able to help. Check with senior citizens groups/centers in your area and see if there's anyone that does dental work on a sliding scale fee or free. Sometimes organizations have health fairs where they have someone available for a day. There's always events like that advertised in our local newspaper (Florida). 1. free community health clinics 2. ask your Area Agency on Aging (in the phone book or call 211) for a list of dentists that accept Medicaid I'm a gerontology major Check with your local Social Services. There may be dentists who donate some of their time/services for free. If they aren't helpful, call a few dentist offices and see if any participate in events offering free dental care to the community. I live in NC and once a year the dentists in our town hold a free clinic. Good luck. You need to contact a social service agency to see what can be found. Since you have Internet access, you should be able to do some searches to get a start on that, usually beginning with the county, city or state. One number is called ElderLink at 414-289-6874 Here's a list of links I found quickly.... http://www.dhfs.state.wi.us/guide/spec/f... http://www.county.milwaukee.gov/display/... |
