Tooth implants are very expensive-can one save money by having two different dental insurances?

Most dental insurance will not cover implants at all. It is just too expensive and does not fit within their actuarial guidelines. (This is the same reason SOME health insurance simply does not pay for organ transplants.) Some dental insurance will pay for the crown that goes on top of an implant, though, so you might get the full crown fee covered instead of the usual 50-80% if you have two policies. If you are only getting one done, though, the premiums would probably add up to more than you'd be getting back, especially considering deductibles. Do the math and decide. Check for implant coverage and decide.

Unfortunately the answer to your question is vague... Some dental insurances will not cover implants because they consider them "cosmetic." Others will only cover them if it is a "necessary" procedure. If you have 2 types of dental insurance that will cover some of the cost of implants by all means give it a try. The office manager in your dental office can call your insurance companies and find out how much of the expense they will cover. Also make sure the dentist you are going to accepts BOTH types of insurance you are carrying. Implants take a long time but once you see the results it is all worth it. They look great and are very durable. Hope everything works out for ya....
I was a Dental Asst/Office Asst last year.
depends on if the implants are cosmetic or needed. isurance won't pay for cosmetic ones (most likely). call around to the dentists, see if they'll accept 2 insurances.
This plan works well alone or with your existing insurance. http://mybenefitsplus.com/40436527... . When I had dental work done I had my dentist office apply this discount first (up to 80%) then bill my insurance for the rest. It saves a lot, and includes prescriptions. It's also very affordable $11.95 per month with no waiting period, use the benefits right away
There's a company out there that helps people who do not have and need affordable dental benefits. It includes all basic things and then surgery, crowns, even orthodontics. There's no high premiums, deductibles, co-pays, waiting periods, or anything like that at all. They can save you up to 80% on your out of pocket expenses for a very small fee every month. It could end up saving your you several thousands $$. Try this website and you can check out the specifics and providers in your area. http://www.everyonebenefits.com/40424269... They are wonderful. I have benefits through them as well. Hope you find what you need. Please email me if you have any questions, and I'd be happy to help you if I can. Best of luck.
