What do you do if a dental filling falls out in a tooth that needs root canal and insurance wont pay for it? |
i need a root canal and my medicaid wont cover it and i am pretty sure the tempory filling that he put in til we can give him 250 to do the root canal fell out what should i do Start saving for the root canal. See if he has a payment plan. Your tooth is going to start aching and getting on your nerves. If the tooth already needs a root canal then it will probably only get worse until you have the treatment. There are temporary filling products at stores like Walgreen's, CVS, and even Wal-mart in the dental section (it might help to hold you over). For help with finances, there are some dentists who use Care Credit - basically a charge card for medical needs that can be paid back slowly over time with little to no interest for you. The care Credit website can give you dentists in your area that use their product. You can also visit the local dental school/college for inexpensive treatment, but it can take several months to get treatment done. Good luck! If you live in a city with a university, often their college of dentistry will have students work on patient's teeth. You can often get root canals, teeth pulled etc... by these students at a very discounted price. The students are generally in their internship and are monitored by licensed dental professors. It may be a good way of getting your teeth fixed without having insurance. You better get a pare of pliers and and a drill and you better grit your teeth and make your own root canal, and pray that you don't mess up your face to much!!! All I can say is if you need it done you should do it I hear it can only get worse. My boss just had two done and he paid over $2,000 so maybe you could get a small loan or something. That sucks! Sorry. Then again your filling fell out I would say something to the doctor cause that's not suppose to fall out. throw it back at him! You said something about giving him $250 for a root canal. I don't know of any root canals that are that low. I have had 3 and I paid $900 for 2 of them before I got these health benefits below. If its only going to cost you $250.00 thats great!!
