What jobs can I get after finishing grad school that pay some or all of my direct federal loans back for me? There are also programs that exist for Nursing students in addition to teachers, that are actively funded programs. Teachers must work in a qualifing school for 5 consecutive years to receive loan forgiveness. The nursing progam is based on percentages after 3 years of service at a qualifing institution. Congress in the past couple of years also passes legislation for health professionals but this program is yet to be funded. Some employers as part of the hiring package will agree to pay off a portion or all of an employees loans if the individual is highly needed and matches what they are looking for and the individual agrees to remain with the company for a designated period of time. Most of these schools are in the inner-city. I know that if you teach in SC at a high risk school for three to five years (not really sure which one it is) the state will pay any federal loans you have. Good fields that often help aid in the repaying of student loans are teaching and nursing. There are other fields, but those are the two most common. |
