My employer does not offer paid Maternity Leave and when my husband & I decide to start a family I want to be prepared.
I used AFLAC. I had been working for my employer for over four years and was able to combine my paid-time-off and sick leave to total 30 hours per week of pay for the 6 weeks I was off. Then AFLAC was able to pay me for those weeks as well at, I believe, 80% of my pay. So in reality, I made more on Maternity Leave than I would have working. Their claim forms are very easy to use, too!
