Is a state suppose to offer short term disability insurance? |
Is a state suppose to offer short term disability insurance? States will sometimes mandate workmans comp which is short term disability, but nothing else other then that. Depends on your state, I'm not sure if they all do it. I think states vary, but I know in California short term disability insurance is offered. One way to know is to check your paycheck and see if money is deducted for SDI (in California it's CASDI). I don't know if it's something they're "supposed" to do, but it's something that they do offer here. Short term disability is considered a fringe benefit. NO one is required to give benefits. |
