How many hours do I need to work to be eligible for NYS Disability Insurance when I have my baby?

I was unemployed from June 2006 to January 2007 and have been working off and on as a substitute aide at a public school. Where do I go to find out the specifics on how many hours or weeks I need to work to become eligible?

You need to work 40 hour or more per week, for four weeks, to become eligible.

It says it covers disabilities arising from pregnancies, but it doesn't say if the pregnancy itself is covered. I think you should check with your employer to find that out. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
