My friends kid got bit by neighbors dog he wont give me his insurance componys name? |
my friends kid got bit, and the neighbor will not give out info on his insurance compony is ther a place i can check records to find out who his home insurance carrier is. the police cant get it neither. i have the guys name address. and i would like to do this with out an attorney. is there a way? we want to get ahold of the insurance comp and tell them these dogs keep biting people and kids. First of all contact your local ASPCA. If the dog is a biter the owner can be in some big legal trouble. You might have to go to small claims court and sue him for medical bills. Sometimes just a letter from an attorney will rattle their chain. call the cops again or contact some society for dogs. gud luck No way to handle this without an attorney. You're going to have to sue the neighbor for the cost of the medical bills and contact the police to have the dogs put down. you're neighbor is in the wrong and I bet he doesn't even have the proper insurance. Call animal control in your township and tell them what happened. They might come out and want to take the dog to be checked, and once that would happen, I'm sure your neighbor would think twice. Plus getting a lawyer to write an initial letter to him might also scare him into cooperating. Good Luck! This issue can be resolved in small claims court...Make sure you have proof....the more the better....also witnesses help a lot. good luck.. 1) Get a copy of the police report. 2) Contact your local animal control (explain this dog keeps biting and you need something done. Also that a child was bitten today and there is concern if the dog is up on shots and what will be done to keep the dog controlled. 3) Take copies of all the reports and medical bills and contact a laywer. Have the lawyer send a letter to your neighbor and small claims court. Make sure he includes the cost of his services. 4) I'm assuming the neighbors dog is loose outside so next time you see him out running around, i'd call the police..Fear to allow your kids outside to play. A child in my neighborhood was bitten by a dog and after the dog was unrightfully put down, they child spoke up and said the dog bit him because he was "trying to get the shiny marbles out of his head"....the kid was poking the dogs eyes.... No wonder he was bitten. |
