Boxer dog in lousiana(affect home owners insurance?)?

in the state on Louisiana in the N.O area does Boxer dog cause ur insurance to rise?.. and what are some links?

It seems that there are some dogs that are "blacklisted" in some states, including Louisiana. While I was unable to find a list of dogs that are affected it appears to vary from insurance company to insurance company and state to state. The dogs that are "blacklisted" are done so by insurance companies based on their "viciousness". Seeing as a Boxer is generally not deemed a vicious dog I would imagine that they should not appear on the "blacklist".

I find this to be yet another form of discrimination and a way to that insurance companies are now employing to excluded, limit and/or deny coverage. If a particular dog, not the breed, has bitten someone then perhaps then and only then should this be used to deny coverage to a homeowner. After all it's "not the breed, it's the deed" and a dog being vicious is a direct result of the lack of training or abuse that it has suffered at the hands of it's owner, or in some cases previous owner(s).

It's sad that law abiding and good dog owners are being punished due to the acts of a few negligent people. The only way to find out of your Boxer will affect your getting home insurance coverage will be to ask. If that company denies you, keep calling alternative companies. There will be one out there that will cover your home and your Boxer.

As a Boxer owner and foster home for them, I find that this and other practises designed and inended to confined, muzzel and destroy breeds so incredibly disheartening. I will keep my fingers crossed that you won't have any difficulty finding an insurance comapny to provide you with excellant coverage and at a fair price. Source(s): animallaw.info

I am work for a major ins company .. We ban vicious dogs like Pits, Dobermans and rotwallers or dogs with a history of violence .. Never heard of boxers being on our list.
Oh and I am in Louisiana..
