Is Pet Insurance worth having? I just spent a lot on my dog and wonder if it would have covered much? It can be, you never know when you might need it. And some companies will even give you money towards getting your dog vaccinated every year. Source(s): Licensed Veterinary Technician Yes.A dog is a wonderful pet to have.If you train it, it will soon do many things for you like picking up newspapers, helping you get the mail, and it will show you that it really likes you. Some breeds are known to have many problems. You can look into the breeds shortcomings (large breeds like German Shepards get hip dysplasia) (little dachounds get back trouble)(pugs get problems with the creases in there faces and problems breathing) If you have a breed that is expensive to keep, it may be worth your money to keep insurance on your dog. Plan ahead, next time get a mixed breed or a dog that comes from sturdy stock. My Minature Pincher is 16+ yrs old and has so far only had to have his shots and once a yr check up. (Of course he is on a good diet and gets excellant excersize too) We keep him treated for heart worms, flea protection and give him only occassional treats. Best investment in a wonderful friend that I have ever made short of my husband and children. Good luck with your pet. They steal your heart fast. Mine is just now starting to get cataracts and it breaks my heart. But he still runs around like a puppy... Yes because in this country you need to have insurence on every thing It's worth it if there aren't any identified pre-existing conditions and if your breed isn't notorious for having problems. Me - I just paid $1,500.00 to have knee surgery performed on my Bull Mastiff (no insurance) |
