Where in Houston Texas can I find an insurance company that will cover rotwiller dogs? Have you tried Farm Bureau? That's who we use and I had a rott and now have a dobie. I don't know. I live in VA but if I were you I would try asking your vet first. I would also contact a lawyer before spending money on Insurance. It might not do you any good. Do you mean HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE that will cover your liability if you own a Rottweiler? Go to a licensed Insurance Broker who has access to all insurance company policies. He/She should be able to find one, but the premium and deductible are likely to be high. Good luck on that one!! Allstate told me that if I had rotts, pinchers, or pit bulls they wouldn't cover me at all. Most insurance companies won't cover you with a known biting breed in the house. They're even starting to hesitate about German Shepards now. I don't know if it is still true, but State Farm told me they do not discriminate by breed (as it SHOULD be), but by behavoir - they would cover one bite claim, but that was it. This was in the early 90's - I had State Farm coverage, and owned 1 Rottweiler & 2 Boxers. State Farm is one of the companys in my area that goes by breed history , not black listing breeds. Go on line though and google insurance coverage for specific breeds and see what you come up with in your area. If you're looking for homeowners' insurance, I'd say State Farm, but for pet health & accident insurance, we love our policy with Pets Best. I lost my rotty to cancer several years ago and miss him terribly. (He was also in an accident that cost quite a bit.) Having the insurance on our new pup is absolutely worth the $30-something I pay per month.
