By trying to repeal the Estate Tax, is GW Bush looking out for America's best interests?

or do just the top 2% "ultra-rich" get to avoid paying the tax thus reducing govt revenue by over a trillion dollars? what is the motive behind this?

Is GW looking out for anyone who isn't in the upper classes best interest?

He has done exactly what any Republican would do, make it easier on the rich and harder on the poor. Their theory is that the money will 'trickle down' to us, eventually helping the economy more than if it were controlled by the government.

It's great in theory, but unfortunately most of it will sit in offshore accounts, earning ungodly amounts of interest. Those at the top have a habit of keeping hold of their money, not trickling it downward our way.
The rich as usual, nuff said.
I am not rich nor are my parents. I believe however that giving money to politicians is like giving a baby a loaded gun. So repealing a tax gives them less power.
top two percent? you idiot, everyone who owns a home in any of the top seven real etate markets is subject to the estate tax now
I'm not rich by any means of the imagination...but, I have to agree with Bush on this one.

Why? I look at it like this...we all, at least I hope all, want to achieve the American dream, and leave things for our children so they may have it easier than we did. I've worked my entire life (I'm 41), and put myself through college, and recently graduated law school. I come from an incredibly poor family, and was the first to graduate from college.

I hope someday to have enough money to leave my children, based upon my hard work. It just seems to me that the Estate Tax is designed to punish those individuals who achieve what they want...the American dream.
