When Clinton deregulated financial services, expanded free trade, cut corporate taxes, was this good? |
I'd LOVE to see the answers on this. It kills me how you get these Reagan haters who say they love Clinton, and Reagan lovers who say they hate Clinton - - Clinton was, on economic policy - stuff that actually got done, rather than soundbites in speeches to labor unions, basically Reagan II. And it's a darn good thing. I just wish his wife were the same way. Clinton was a poll-whore That was the Republican congress, not President Clinton. Clintons only respond to poll data. If it would have been politically advantageous to veto, he would have. No, Clinton gave this Country away! NAFTA ring a bell? We need to increase OUR labor and work force! NOT a different countries! Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh Duh!! I just answered a question from a 14 year old girl about "What kind of doggie is the cutest". Might be the wrong forum for deep politics. 1st responder is wrong. Clinton was known (contrary to what you hear) as pro-business. He knew how to work with a republican congress to get some things done. btw- I guess I'm an exception to your rule. I'm generally (note generally) ok with both Reagan and Clinton even though both did things I disagreed with. Whatever Clinton did, the 90s economy and extreme drop in crime rate is second to none. The 90s economy benefited ALL versus the NEO-eCONomies that result in foreclosures, lost of jobs, huge deficits, and a devalued dollar. Some was good, some wasn't. But, I'd have to say that the Clinton Administration was not Reagan II. Clinton was more fiscally responsible. |
