Why does a comma go in front of Inc. after the name of a business? Ex., Financial Services, Inc.? |
Why does a comma go in front of Inc. after the name of a business? Ex., Financial Services, Inc.? Actually, it doesn't always. I know it's weird, but some companies do NOT use a comma. I work at a law firm, so it's always confusing listing clients, because we have to be careful not to mess up and put a comma when there shouldn't be one, or leave it out when there should be one. Sorry for the convoluted answer, but there it is. Tradition! tradition and form, what? its a seperator. Inc. is the short form of incorporation alike Ltd. for Limited and Pvt. for Private. Inc means incorporated with another business so its actually an abbreviation as if to go on in a sentence but we do not know the name of the other affiliated company or companies because its too long to put on a bussiness sign ex...abc company,LLC....llc is a limited liability company in case of lawsuits limitations etc. |
