Are there any financial aid organizations in Burlington Co. NJ to help pay for behavioral health services? |
My son is scheduled to start a behavioral health program in Lumberton NJ, but self pay is outrageous and private insurance is limited, does anyone know for sure of any financial aid other than medicaid to help pay for this? You have probably tried everything I鈥檓 going to mention, but I hope something works out for you. First, have you talked with several different health insurance agents? If not, I鈥檇 do that. I鈥檝e included a link below to a site that鈥檚 free with no obligation and it helps you get in touch with NJ-licensed agents. As for government-sponsored, non-Medicaid programs, the only one I could find was NJ Family Care (link and phone number below). New Jersey and the federal government jointly fund it. It does offer mental health coverage, but I think it may be only through approved providers and facilities. You can check on that and see if the Lumberton facility is a participating provider. There are insurance, family size, and monthly income requirements, but the site mentions exceptions to all of these rules. Below I鈥檝e also linked to the Office of Child Services, which you probably have already talked to. However, I鈥檇 call and talk with people at any level you can. The Lumberton facility contact info is also on that page, and I would call their administrative offices and talk with them about your plight. I鈥檇 even try and talk with a doctor there. Physicians sometimes can help with ways to help pay for treatment. There鈥檚 also a link to Needy Meds, which is a clearinghouse for health aid organizations. I couldn鈥檛 find anything that matches your situation, but if your child requires medication, you can find help there, or if he is diagnosed with a specific disorder, there is probably an organization that can help 鈥?just search Needy Meds by disorder. Finally, there鈥檚 a link to the New Jersey Psychiatric Association.
