Is it right for a company to take your health insurance away on or a day before you get fired? Absolutely NOT! You have a grace period. How long did you work there? What does it say in your Employee Handbook? I believe you should be able to keep the insurance for no less than 30 days depending upon how long you have been there. If it was within the first 3 months (which is technically the probation period) then you might be screwed. Read your employee handbook. If the job doesn't have one, you should out why. On, yes. Before, no. When I lost my job, I lost my ins. that day. You are the slave and they are the Masters. Nothin' U can do about it. |
