Will my pregnant wife be accepted onto my health insurance plan at my new job?

my wife lost her insurance due to insufficient hours so she switched jobs and now works 40 hours but no benifits and i am bout to start a job with benifits , now will my benifits cover her or will they deny her due to her being with child?

Your wife should be covered. Most insurance companies do not catagorize pregnancy as a "pre-existing" condition. Just make sure that her current doctor accepts your new insurance and call your new insurance company's customer service and explain the situation. They should be able to provide you with all the information you need and if there is anything that will need to be done. Good luck and congrats on the new baby to come!
Insurance shouldnt deny her. If you have decent insurance, they should accept her and her maternity visits shouldnt lapse. Her doctor may change depending on if her old OB is on your new insurance.
how far along is she? Has she had prenatal care? if its preexisting most of the time the insurance will exclude the pregnancy, you might be up a creek without a paddle! You should try to see what the insurance company policy is on pregnancy, some insurances dont even cover maternity unless you pay extra, good luck, i feel you! i have no insurance and am 14 weeks, paying cash through the nose at each appointment and ultrasound and test, blah its so expensive!
We had just found out I was pregnant when my (ex) husband got laid off from his sales job. A month later, he started a mid-year substitute teaching job that ended up being permanent. Even though my pregnancy was "pre-existing" his insurance benefits covered me. I don't know if this is common, but we were lucky.
I don't think they can refuse to cover "her." The only issue would be if they considered the pregnancy a pre-existing condition. But a few years ago, I heard that insurance companies can no longer count a pregnancy as a pre-existing condition. They have to cover it. I'm not positive this was a nationwide thing, but I think so. Congratulations and good luck.

(edit) If not, she may qualify for medicaid. You could look into that.
they should cover her
