SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!! do they have public assistance like welfare, ebt, health insurance for children? |
i just moved here from mass with no money, no health insurance and no money and my son just got thrush. what should i do? i dont know this place someone please help me! You may want to take your son to a public hospital for treatment so that they can bill you and you can pay later. Public assistance is available but could take several weeks. The good news is that there are several jobs (avoid the theme parks) that offer insurance beginning day one here in central florida. Wow - I'm sorry your life has put you in a situation where you had to move across the country without planning in advance. You could apply for government assistance, but I couldn't tell you the process - check with WIC website? Please tell me you're on the computer at the library and don't have internet access at home, cuz I'd probably think badly of you if it were otherwise. take your son to the hospital or a low cost clinic..they might not charge you and then find the medicade office and i think they will pay your dr.s back to three months..not to be rude but when you move with kids you always need back up money incase something like this happends..do you know anyone there?..she if maybe they could tell you were some stuff is..other wise get a phone book and start calling Long term answer would be to check into state health insurance. Most states will cover any babies under the age of one, and then once they turn one, it depends on your income. check out this link http://www.floridakidcare.org/ For right now, I would check into any clinics that get paid on a sliding scale. Or even some doctors offices will help you if you have no health insurance. It's going to be tricky, because most doctor's offices won't take you if you're not already a patient and have had your son go to a well visit. Do you have a ped. for your son at all yet? Check out these links http://www.walkinclinicorlando.com/... http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=utf-8&oe=... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=l&view=tex... call them and see how they do payment methods. it'll be a wait, as most walk in clinics are busy, but it's worth it for your son. do like all the people without insurance and money...go to the emergency room. stand by for a 6 hr wait....if your son is really hurting you may get some priority...orlando regional on orange ave is the one you should go to...they have a peidatric emergency room too check out your county's public health clininc. also Access Florida www.myflorida.com/accessflorid... I hate to tell you but this is not Mass. The welfare system IS not like it is up north. And especially like Mass which has one of the best welfare systems in the country. The Hospitables are on a pay as you go system. They do not take uninsured that can not pay for care unless it is life and death situation and then they only need to give care enough to maintain life , and then they ship the patient off. If you can I would return to Mass and get your child the medical assistance that he needs |
