Does anyone have feedback on privately purchased health insurance policies from Humana or United Healthcare? |
My brother and his wife need to buy healthcare since neither get it through their job. They've got a 15-month-old baby, too! My sister-in-law has heard that both Humana and United Healthcare have affordable family policies, and I am just wondering if anyone has any personal experience of either company? The both have very good policies. I sell both companies and have one of these companies for my own insurance. They'll need to do their homework because the cheaper policies from both companies are not as comprehensive as the ones with the higher premiums, which means they have fewer benefits. Your brother and sister-in-law should visit a local independent agent. The agent knows the market in your area and can find the best policy for their situation and budget and might recommend a different company. The agent can explain the benefits of the policies to make sure they're getting what they want. The plans and the premiums are exactly the same using the agent as they are buying from the company directly. Source(s): Independent Agent Just read the policies very carefully. Look for words like "pre-existing" and make sure they will cover a medical condition that has already been diagnosed prior to the policy. Generally personal policies have pre-existing conditions. Good Luck! |
