What are the apportunities for a doctor having experience in Health Insurance in KPO Industry? As a doctor by profession, I do not understand why do you want to move in to Health Insurance. I do understand that Insurance sector particularly health insurance is underpenetrated in India and is bound to grow at a CAGR of 50% for the next five years throwing umpteen jobs. Again as such the health insurance is also vast one with variegated jobs in the sector. You better discuss with seasoned professionals and see in which category u fit better, i.e., your current knowledge do not go waste and u can build your profession on the base of it, may be kind of Actuarial Studies where there is scope for growth and it also give satisfaction intellectually. But you can always explore the opportunities in the Healthcare KPO/BPO space. There are concepts of Medical Coding, Clinical Trials, Medical Analytics etc, Patient Relationship Management, where there the career is rewarding. Also you can get good exposure. Even I gather companies like Ranbaxy want to enter this space as there are immense opportunities. So better look out at Healthcare KPO space also. The learning curve will be less in this space for you than Insurance. |
