I think I need anti-depressants but I have no health insurance/money, what do I do?

I was on anti-depressants for 3 years but came off of them a few years ago. Lately I've been feeling depressed, irritable, and have anxiety like all the time and have been using alcohol and prescription meds. (Vicodin, Tylenol w/ Codiene) to make me feel good. But I have no health insurance or money to afford therapy or meds. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

go to your local health department and tell them what you have said here and ask for help they will give you help no insurance needed
there is an over thecounter remedy to help with depression called st. johns wort.I have heard that thishelps with depression when takenona regular basis. Also try to find someone you can talk to on a regular basis that will be ready to listen. You would be suprised how just talking about things that bother you canmamke a difference.
are you planning to live the rest of your life using drugs?
maybe you need to use some other approach?
why are you depressed? this life is getting to you? take a relaxing vacation, go out with girlfriends, shop, find yourself a hobby, find someone who needs help and help them. do something in your life, don't hide behind the drug addiction, because this is a drug addiction, except the drugs you are wanting are legal.
Are you sure you don't just need someone to talk too? Find a way to change you mind, move around, find something to do different, Drugs are not the answer. Play hard, work hard try to find a way to have some FUN!!!!!

Go through your county mental health agency. They will set you up with an appointment with a psychiatrist who can then prescribe an anti-depressant if needed. The cost would be taken care of either on a sliding scale or free.
In addition to the suggestion to go to the health center, if they determine you do need meds they can help you apply for a Patient Assistant Program, or PAP for short. These are programs through the pharmaceutical companies where they help people with low income get their meds for free.

But you can't take the meds with alcohol, vicodin, or coedine. So definitely get those out of your system.
