I'm 3 months pregnant and I was just wondering about health insurance.? |
I am 20 and a full time college student as is my boyfriend. We are both on our parents' insurance plans (you can be until age 25 as long as you attend school 5 months out of the year). We both plan on attending school still after we have the baby with the help of our families. So I was just wondering how we would provide our baby with health insurance. Could it be covered by our parents's plans still? help! The only way to find out is to call the insurance companies. Don't mess around - know upfront. In addition, take the time to call Congress and demand national health care. This is an absurd situation. Lastly, you should know: Infants cannot tolerate more than 10 hours separation a week from mommy without emotional, physical, intellectual, and social harm. Research on this matter has been consistently showing this for 50 years. There's no doubt - tho lots of media hype trying to hide the truth. A few years ago, NICHD found that the damage to infant happened even if daddy, grandma, or a great nanny provided the substitute care. That's because babies evolved with the need to bond to one caregiver (we used to call this a mother) who will hold the child nearly continually, nurse on demand, and talk and listen with sensitive reciprocity. Source(s): http://www.geocities.com/wellesley/garde... yes it could yes, it should be. since you are not married you should compare the plans as well as confirm that yours/his parents will accept financial responsibility for paying the additional premium. remember that for the baby to be added to the policy, there is a time frame for which the child must be added to be covered. speak with your parents. Not after age 19 on most policies but being in school you may! If not, search maternity insurance and there is a few that will cover you now! It is a discount plan and no pre condition ! You can be 8 months and get it! Best wishes I found this http://geobay.com/bdd109 article it should answer your question it has some good information on health insurance and how to find good deals. |
