What can you do if you are depressed but do not have health insurance to see a therapist? Libby, try self help books. Often no one can help you better than yourself. Also try books written by Jiddu Krishnamurti. His books are not self help - psychology books. They are mostly about philosophy of life and self realisation. But his books have helped me to completely overcome my depression, and as a psychologist I use them with my clients. Your mind and body are so closely linked that it makes no sense trying to fix one without the other! All the best! Your town, city, or state will have a department of mental health. Often, there are pages at the front of your phone book that will list emergency/urgency numbers. You can also try calling your local hospital and asking them where they can recommmend for you to go. Modified 1 year ago try applying for medicaid or another subsidized health plan. if ur really on the verge of losing it (i know the feeling) u can check into the psych ward at a hospital, but i cant tell u how that'll go. i was actually evaluated to determine whether i should be admitted to the psych ward few weeks ago but they decided i wasnt quite that crazy. TRY SELP-HYPNOSIS, RECOLLECTIONS of PLEASANT MEMORIES,VIVID LIVING THROUGH A HAPPY PAST, etc. MAY WORK. KEEPING VERY BUSY, is a GOOD OPTION. EXPERIENCE, of THE SAME, & WORST EPISODES< COVERING MY LIFE. I never used one, but I heard there are alot of church organizations that give free help |
