What's the best way to deal with carpal tunnel syndrome? (no health insurance to goto the Dr.)?

Is there any treatment?

Initial treatment generally involves resting the affected hand and wrist for at least 2 weeks, avoiding activities that may worsen symptoms, and immobilizing the wrist in a splint to avoid further damage from twisting or bending. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and other nonprescription pain relievers, may ease pain. Cool (ice) packs and prednisone (taken by mouth) or lidocaine (injected directly into the wrist) can relieve swelling and pressure on the median nerve and provide immediate, temporary relief.

What is the prognosis?

Recurrence of carpal tunnel syndrome following treatment is rare. The majority of patients recover completely. To prevent workplace-related carpal tunnel syndrome, workers can do on-the-job conditioning, perform stretching exercises, take frequent rest breaks, wear splints to keep wrists straight, and use correct posture and wrist position. Wearing fingerless gloves can help keep hands warm and flexible.

If you spend a lot of time on the computer, get an ergonomic keyboard. I got one and my carpal tunnel symptoms completely went away. This is not a guarantee it will help you, but it really did help me a lot.

Yes, it will drive you crazy at first while you get used to it, but it makes you hold your hand in a more natural position while you type.

They cost a bit more than a straight keyboard, but they are SOOO worth it. If you do most of your typing at work they may buy one for you to use there. If not, get one for yourself.

Is there a charity hospital in your town? This may be worth a visit if you are having problems.
buy a tennis elbow type brace and wear it whenever you are doing things that aggravate your carpel tunnel syndrome. Apply ice for about 20 minutes a few times a day too. Rest is the best remedy if can do it. Good Luck
Go buy a wrist brace, that has a metal piece in it that stabilizes the wrist in an upward angle. That will elongate the nerves that are involved with the carpal tunnel syndrome. Sleep with them on, and you will notice almost instant relief.
