Are smokers more to blame than obese people for the cost of health insurance? |

But I think that it addresses this question appropriately. ********************** Despite all of the news about how certain conditions cause an increase in health-care costs I have to point out that EVERYONE is going to get sick; and EVERYONE is going to die. It is just a timetable difference between the ones with a healthy lifestyle and the ones who don't take care of themselves. So unless you die of some catastrophic event in a sudden way, you too (and EVERYBODY else) will be a financial burden on the medical system. So maybe we should give smokers discounts for speeding up the process for themselves ;-) something to think about. The people responsible for the high cost of insurance are the insurance companies. Check out their profit margins if you can find them. Nope, because smokers can sue Tobacco companies, but fat people can't sue McDonald's for being a lard *** HAHA I know it has nothing to do with insurance, but I wanted to share that with you Blame the environment,water,air,preserva... in food.It's easy to blame smokers, that takes the focus off other poisons !! Neither group is "to blame for the cost of health insurance." Our lawmakers, lawyers, healthcare industry, pharmaceutical corporations, and health insurance corporations are to blame for it. There will always be some group that this establishment tries to blame and scapegoat for the fact that it turns gigantic profits and does not serve the public well. If not smokers, then drinkers. If not obese people, then dieters. If not drug addicts, then the clinically depressed. I like smokers and fatsos and I think blaming people for their own heath issues would not be an option if we all had to pay for our own health insurance. Then it is our own problem and not the tax payers. People should be able to die of their own choice of poisons. My choice is Snicker bars one is just as bad as the other......the reason health insurance is so high, is because of so many people not having coverage, free care for others, and the list goes on.......if everyone paid xxx amount of dollars for coverage, it wouldn't be that expensive..... |
