I just found out that i was pregnant does anyone know of a health insurance thta will take on a pregnant woman |
Please help i need to go to the doctors!!! you can definetely apply for and get medicaid for pregnant women at your local health department. No fees, No copays. After you deliver your baby is covered under the plan for a year. Insurance doesn't work like that. You can't get pregnant (or sick) and then buy insurance. Just like you can't buy car insurance after you've had an accident... It is my understanding the pregnancy is not allowed to be classified as a "pre-existing condition" under the law. Do some price shopping find the best 5 and then start making calls. (Also you might want to list your Country &State/Province for people to help you) This is a toughie. Most insurance companies do consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition and will not cover you. It's best to call around. Have you contacted Medical assistance in your area? If thats not an option call your local hospital. Most have wonderful outpatient clinics ...explain to them that you do not have insurance and they will either help you get med assistance or do a sliding scale fee. hope this info helps! go to your local health department where you live and they will be able to give you an application for medicaid.....if your income is low enough you will qualify.....if not they should be able to give you other options.......good luck Insurance companies cannot deny insurance to a pregnant woman. Pregnancy cannot be considered a "pre-existing condition". So any insurance company should take you on. |
