When I retire I would like to live in Canada. One of my concerns is aquiring health insurance as a US citizen?

Everyone who lives in Canada is required to have Canadian health coverage. I don't know about other provinces, but as for BC, I think you just have to show that you're a legal resident, maybe not even that. You have to pay the regular rates though, the medical assistance plan is only for citizens. Check out: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/index_e.html... for more info.
