Advice: Keep your overhead as low as possible, unless you have lots of money saved up and a complete business plan with funding in place. At the end of the day, most agencies fail- the number 1 reason is "low sales"- as you know this business is very competitive, additionally the profit market after expenses is extremely low. $100.00 Premium IFP Plan $8.00 - $20.00 possible Commission (Insurance companies are now paying commission on the plan sold, and also the medical condition of your client) So lets say you receive $10.00 Gross Revenue/ Phone costs (800), supplies, computer, fax, website, postgage costs, Errors & Ommission costs, License costs, advertisement costs (if any), Incidentals.
