What happens if you were rushed to the ER and the doctor discovers that you have no health insurance?

What happens if you were rushed to the ER and the doctor discovers that you have no health insurance?

Well, I suppose they would evaluate and treat you, if it were a life-threatening emergency. Some hospitals can turn people away, but most are willing to work with those without insurance.

But if it's an emergency, and you are "rushed" there, then it won't matter. You'll get treated.
By LAW they have to fix you. If they don't to the best of their abilities you should sue!
You can't be turned down for medical care in an emergency situation based on your health insurance status
Nothing. They'd still treat you and then send you a bill, I would think.
In the US, they are required, by law, to treat you.
depends on the situation. if its a life or death situation then they have to service you. if its not then they can deny service, its up to the hospital, its also upto the hospital to decide what is considered life or death
