I am a house wife and my husband and I want to have a baby but my health insurance does not cover pregnancy.? |
I found out that it will cost at least $10000 for just the delivery not including other costs such as monthly check ups, blood tests, ultrasound, etc at the doctor's office. I am more worried about getting pregant than enjoying the possible life with a baby because of the cost of having a baby. I have been trying to find a job for myself so that I can have better insurance but no luck for last 2 years. Is there any way, suggestion or tips of having a baby at reduced cost? Contact dept. of family and children svcs. I didn't have ins. and was put on medicaid and the whole thing was paid for. Would you be eligable for medicaid?? It pays for everything. Check with the state insurance. We could not cover both of my pregnancies with our insurance . I went into the state and they put me on state health care. It is not very much money and after the child is born you just put them on your insurance. Good luck, and I hope you have a baby soon. Only if the world was perfect.... it costs about 4000 all in, if you can't afford it the government will pay You might want to check with the insurance company and see if they offer a rider that would cover just maturnity and child birth. The only other thing I can think of would be going through the city. Sometimes social services or the health department offer free health care to individuals that can not afford insurance. Good Luck! Check out Medicaid... Thats what happened to me when i found out i was prego... my insurance covered everything BUT pregnancy... Medicaid paid 100% and covered my baby for the first year after birth. |
