If you're above the maximum age for dependents who aren't in school full-time, then you will be dropped as soon as the insurer confirms you're no longer eligible.

Something to keep in mind: in order to re-enroll, you have to be at or under the maximum age for NEW dependents. In other words, you'll have to re-qualify. Most contracts state NEW dependents must be age 18 or below. So if you're above the qualifying age, you won't be able to re-enroll.

It's a HUGE misconception (including right here on YA Insurance) that you can re-enroll once you've started school full-time again.
Find a full-time job with benefits and you'll be eligible for insurance. You could also buy health insurance.
I take it you've been on your parents' policy? If you're over the age of 18, then not in most states.

But you can get a short-term health insurance policy. As long as you don't have any pre-existing conditions, that should work out fine for you.

If you have any pre-existing conditions, you'll probably have to buy a spin-off policy from the parents' insurance company.

If you do not meet the criteria established by your parents' health insurance company, then the answer is "NO." You cannot avoid being dropped. I would suggest that you look for your own individual coverage or find a job that offers coverage. When you return to school full-time, you will be eligible for coverage under your parents' plan again
Get a job with an employer that provides health insurance.

You can't stay on your PARENT'S policy if you're over 18 and not a full time student.
