What do you think can be done about the insurance/health care crisis in America? 1. Stop smoking. 2. Eat more veggies and fruit 3. Stop eating "fast food" 4. Destroy your TV and xbox and get some exercise 5. Drink responsibly 6. Follow traffic laws and speeds 7. Don't do irrisponsible things that put your life/health in jeapardy 8. Limit legal settlements to reasonable levels 9. Finally, stop looking for the government (at my expense) to pay for your health problems when you spend all day trying to kill yourself. I think we should do what the Chinese do: You pay your doctor all year long as long as you are healthy, but you stop paying him when you get sick. Healthcare is expensive. I don't think people should get it for free when us hard working people have to pay for it. I don't think that innocent children should have to suffer though. I don't know what the answer is but too many people are irresponsible and need to use birth control and condoms that are free at health clinics and it would be alot easier. They could put caps on malpractice lawsuits so insurance and doctor visits were cheaper. To bad its going to be a long hard road. www.votetoimpeach.org There is a crisis in that you've competition in the health insurance industry that redlines just like the automotive industry does. What I mean is that they attempt to measure risk vs reward when establishing policies and types of policies for particular groups and areas. Despite having agreed upon a universal claim form for claim submissions insurance companies waste billions on administrative overhead in processing claims. Each company has it's own proprietary way of dealing with claims and that's the issue. It's not the medical field sticking it to you and I. It's the insurance companies wastefulness and inability to standardize platforms that causes the problems. Proven fact that standardization saves money...insurance companies refuse to do so and we pay the price. Sadly, little can be done until the Baby Boomers pass on. The weight of this generation will continue to harm the health care system for years to come. Another problem is the emergency rooms in the US. They are required to provide service to anyone with or without insurance. This is what causes the insureds rates to increase. We provide free insurance to those who don't want to or cannot afford insurance. (Illegal imigrants fall into this catagory) It isn't fair, but it's better than any other. |
