Looking for good Health Care Insurance, that covers pre-exisitng illness?

Looking for good Health Care Insurance, that covers pre-exisitng illness?

There鈥檚 not really such a thing as insurance for pre-existing conditions, but the good news is that it鈥檚 much easier to find help these days. Your best chance is to join a group health plan, such as one you get through work. If you were under a group health plan, you should be protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in this circumstance. Under HIPPA, you should be able to credit the time you were covered under the old group plan against the waiting period of the new group plan 鈥?as long as you haven鈥檛 gone more than 63 days without coverage. Call your old health plan and get them to send you your certificate of creditable coverage. You might also want to call your state insurance department (link below) and ask about rules regarding pre-existing conditions and insurance. Also, I鈥檝e included a link to a Georgetown University Web site that has state-by-state guides that include specific rules about insurance and pre-existing conditions.

If you haven鈥檛 been treated for your condition, you may not have as much difficulty finding affordable health insurance as you might think. Even if something is wrong, your health problem may not be one of the conditions that they exclude coverage for at the beginning of a health plan.

You might also try support organizations for your condition. Needy Meds (link below) is a clearinghouse for such organizations.

If you can鈥檛 find employment with group health insurance, then your best bet is to talk with state-licensed health insurance agents. Talk with more than one because that will give you a better perspective on your choices. It also encourages a little healthy competition for your business. Check out MostChoice.com. You fill out a short form and review online quotes from health plans in your area. Then, within two days, locally licensed agents contact you to talk about your health care needs and what you鈥檇 like to pay for insurance. You just wait until one of the agents delivers a health plan you like. There鈥檚 no cost or obligation to buy insurance, and your personal information is used only to match you with local health plans and agents. Simply tell them about your condition, the amount of money you can spend, and let them do the rest.

You will need to find a group insurance policy that cover a large population; that is the only way I know that it isn't necessary to tell of a pre-existing illness.
sorry but if you are in the US, the only Health insurnace you will find that will cover pre-existing illness will be a group plan though your employor.

Individual policies that I know ( and I know most of them) all have at least a 12 month waiting period for any pre-existing illness. If you can even get it, since if you have alot of pre illness they won't even insure you to start with.

And if you do, it will cost alot.

( and will go up every year, the insurance for my son with no illness at all, has doubled in price in 3 years)
Private Insurance Co. like thru an ins. agent or taking it out thru an ins. yourself not thru an employer it is about 99% likely it will not cover pre-exisiting conditions, and if so a rider will be put on for like diabetes, asthma, stomach problems, hypertension, for example for 6 months or longer and then they may cover or not. They will be very expensive. Your age has alot to do with coverage also unless it is with a new job. Insurance taken out with a job. I was an office manager for a doctor and also I have had my share of medical problems with and without insurance coverage.
Experience
If you, or your spouse, get health insurance through most employers you will be covered for pre existing or any other medical problems after a 30-90 day probation period. If you have had health coverage through someone else and have not had a lapse in that coverage for more than 60 days there are many insurance agencies that will cover all your needs. If neither of these pertain to you, many states have programs that will help cover medical expenses based on your income.
