In Georgia, what is the best (cheapest) way to get basic health care insurance for a working 70 yr old? |
70 yr old woman, makes very little money, and gets no coverage through employer. Shes already 70 so it will not be "cheap". I am in Atlanta GA and I think she needs to get her own health insurance if her employee is not covering her. She should try Kaiser Permanente or CIGNA. AETNA is a good source too. apply for medicare. there is no such thing as "cheap" insurance even for basic coverage. there are Unicare programs on the internet, they have a base payment, single people like 119.00 yearly, then the office visits are less, and no paper work to fill out no reembursments to wait on, straight up medical treatment and off you go. It is called reduced medical coverage. Doctors join and offer you savings off what Anthem or other large insurance companies offer, to get your business. Drug cards are also now available free or very cheap to get perscription drugs at a reduced rate as well. good luck. also you are entitled to Medicare if you are over 69. Modified 1 year ago you get social security? then you shuld have part B on medicare.if you opted for part A then you just didnt read enough.if georgia has a blue cross blue shield plan look for bcbs advantage but it will cost at your age. for a 24 y/o female and healthly its 134.00 a month i got my daughter on the ncbcbs plan when she finished high school. it started at 74.00 a month and when she got married i cancell it. the final premium was 134.00 she was 23 at the time. MEDICARE AND MEDICAID.HAHAHA. |
