Do you think it's unwise not to subscribe to dog health care insurance? |
i have a 3mo. old teacup chi. I've heard that the insurance is not worth it because the vet has specific things that he can turn down the insurance on. There are a lot of clauses. Do read the fine print. My friend was going to get it but found out so many things aren't covered that it wasn't worth it. uhh, they have that? weird. If you have the money I say go for it. My free little mutt has cost me at least 600 dollars in the past two years (he likes to try and play with the big dogs!) Well it is wise if you have an expensive pedigree dog or your most loved dog in the world That all depends on how much it costs. You will likely get your dog the care it needs whether or not you have insurance. I have never done it but I imagine that those whose dogs get sick often wish they had it. Read the fine print and see what it covers and what is excluded. This will help you make up your mind. Also, ask your vet about it. No such thing as 'teacup.' It's just a designer name to squeeze a few more dollars out of you. I have studied several of these polices. From my best estimation of what is most likely to require vet care as a dog ages, the policies didn't cover that. They cover some stuff like very basic care. But the cost of the premium over a period of one year appeared to me to just about equal the cost to pay for the care that it covered. I just know now that my dogs are 8 and 9 years old I will face some bigger vet bills over the remainder of their lives. I'm ready for it. So if you think that you won't be able to afford to give your dog the basic vet care over the years then the policy may help you budget your money in advance. Sorry if that was confusing. so you got the runt of the litter. And only if your pet is very costly. But no, vets now a days are very affordable. And l for one do know there is no teacup chihuahua. That is just to get a few more dollars out of people. |
